This past year, I’ve been captivated by some powerful ideas about Jesus Christ and its implication on my daily life. Consider these three verses from Paul’s letter to the Colossians. Imagine what life would be like if we actually believed them and grabbed ahold of the implications each day!

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him. (1:19 NIV)

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. (2:9,10 NIV)

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (1:27 NIV)

Consider the implications of these ideas for our life each day. It’s exactly what Jesus promised in John 14-16. By the Holy Spirit, we have constant, direct access to Him. He’s not going to leave us as orphans. Jesus Christ, God’s son, in whom all the fullness of deity dwells, lives in us.

This is good news. This is a product of our redemption and reconciliation. This is the Christian life as God intended it to be lived.

How does it make you feel to hear the good news about “Christ in you, the hope of glory?”(Colossians 1:27)
