I recently bought a new pair of eyeglasses because it was getting increasingly more difficult to see using my old prescription.

In the same way, clear spiritual eyesight is indispensable. The lens through which we see the world changes everything!

In Matthew 6, Jesus speaks strongly of how important our ability to “see” is, and how devastating it is when we don’t see clearly. “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:22,23).

Whether or not we are people who have “light-filled” lives—or lives filled with darkness—depends on our ability to see clearly.
