Over the past 24 hours, would you say that you were primarily chasing after something (affirmation, a thrill, money, stuff, respect, love) or running from something (fear, failure, relationship, exposure, risk, loneliness)?
For some people, adrenaline is a coping mechanism they depend on far too often. Life was not meant to be lived at full speed everyday!
I find that when I have my hope in the things God has designed me to hope in, I’m not frantically moving from one thing to another. I can wait.
In Isaiah, we are given a promise of God:
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3 NIV).
Imagine life lived in a way where peace is the constant status of your heart. How comforting that would be. And it’s available to you.
