As followers of Christ, each of us has the opportunity to be influencers for the Kingdom (that is, to be leaders) where we live, work, and play. Just think of the powerful effect on our world if every follower of Jesus embraced the vision—to disciple and empower others to walk with God and be used by Him.

It’s not just pastors, missionaries, and super-Christians with fancy titles who have influence. It’s everyday people like you and me. Consider the influence of Jesus’ disciples and how they are described:

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13 NIV, emphasis added).

Maybe that’s you and me—ordinary people, influenced by Jesus, and given the courage by Him to influence others. Combine millions of these ordinary Christ-following influencers and who knows what could happen?!
